I just purchased these and haven’t worn them yet and now I am concerned that I have a defective boot that won’t stand the test of time for the 500$ I spent. Concerned. I love the look but….

These boots are very comfortable for me. I did not size up but would say sizing based on your street size is not applicable. Go off of the shoe measurements and foot measurements. Must try on in person if you can. You also need to set your heel as far back as you can when lacing the boots or your toes will slip too far forward into the toe box. properly put on, they are great, otherwise may feel uncomfortable. for wooden soles they do not feel overly heavy, especially if compared to rubber or cork soles. I have very flat feet with no arch, and found them to be suitable for that, if you have high arches, i wouldn’t reccomend these. I find the construction to be pretty good, I have noticed some heel lift from the sole but that’s not uncommon with boots of this style and i have experienced it before, plus is a known problem with these boots, so i was expecting it, so if you are wary about having to fix or be extra careful with your shoes, maybe not for you. The customer service at the Denver store is AMAZING. They let me prance around for a while in the boots and were so helpful and informational, as well as very excited and knowledgeable about the brand. I had to call about some pricing differences in the store vs website and they were able to provide a refund for the difference with no trouble. Thank you Madeline and other Denver store staff for the amazing service! I can’t wait to visit again!

I returned my first pair because one nail looked like it hit a knot & folded over. The exchange was seamless! I'm a 7.5 street I got a 7 & had them stretched because my big toe barely touched. Such a comfortable shoe.

This shoe! She reminds me of a mother goose book of the old lady who lived in the shoe I read as a child. Extremely comfortable and long-wearable. Be prepared to be stopped on the street constantly though they are showstoppers. I did get them when they first came out and the heel separated and the Boston store was great about getting them repaired. When the first repair didn’t satisfy me they exchanged for a new pair - that had also been fixed. They are glorious. Worth the wait. And a beloved addition to my addiction I mean collection.

These boots are defective and the heel separates from the base (it's a known issue -- read the other reviews), rendering the boot useless shortly after use. Mistakes happen to everyone though, right? It's the handling of it that got me. Staff acted like they were doing me a favor by taking the shoes back since it was three weeks, rather than two weeks, after purchase. The return policy is horrendous. There's so many other stores that have a more trusting vibe and show it with generous return policies -- especially on defective items. Note to ALL REVIEWERS: remember to select the star that you want to give it. If you don't select the star level, it will default to 5 stars, even if you're giving a poor review.

I am very disappointed in how Fluevog handled the quality issue of these boots. I purchased them at full price as soon as they came out. While I was delighted with the boots when they arrived, Fluevog swiftly and quietly removed them from the website without explanation, leaving those of us who had already purchased questioning. I found out they had a potential quality issue of the upper separating from the sole due to the sole being wood, inflexible, and that Fluevog was doing additional quality testing. I asked for updates repeatedly, but ultimately sent my new boots back for credit so I would not be stuck with a shoe that separates. Time has gone by and zero updates have been provided by Fluevog. They did not disclose their findings, their original concern, NOTHING to the many customers who had paid almost $500 for these boots with a known defect. Instead, the boots suddenly re-appeared on the website one day with no mention of what had been found and what had been done to remedy the issue. The Twee went from one of my favorite items of the season to something I had zero faith in purchasing. Further, the lack of transparency from Fluevog on a known quality issue has eroded my trust in the company and the brand in general. I have seen more and more quality issues from soles separating, to mismatched colors, color fading, inconsistent fit from the same family and shoe, shoes that destroy your feet with one light wear, etc. It makes me really sad that this once beloved brand is trying to sweep these issues under the rug and doesn't seem to put enough care into preventing these issues from happening in the first place. At this price point I expect more. Do better, Fluevog.

I guess I need help with remembering where my ankle is and where my heel is. I meant to say in my previous review that the back of my heel is average. I do have ankles on the smaller side. I don't find these boots wide at all. Easy to lace for a more slender leg or not much.

They hit no pressure points and the uplifting bubble toe is a plus in comfort and appearance! They are perfect for me even with thicker socks in my street size. I have average width feet, and average length of toes, and average arch and instep. Ankles are average.
