The Alan is one of two limited edition “kidney shoes” created in celebration of John’s successful kidney transplant in April 2025, and our way of raising awareness for donors and patients. Named after John’s kidney donor’s husband, Alan, these Northampton monk strap shoes feature a triple-strap design inspired by the kidney structure itself, metal buckles, and a beautiful, rich burgundy upper. I have been wearing FluVlogs almost exclusively since 2007. I love all the shoes I have, but I’ve never written a review until now. This newest pair is absolutely outstanding. My wife thought the red was a little bit bold but I love it, the combination between the red leather and the patent leather, all the additional details, just simply exceptional. And I didn’t even mention the construction or the quality of the fit. Outstanding way to go!
